Elliot Anderson (NEW)

Of the many budget midfielders in FPL this season, Elliot Anderson is emerging as the most exciting.
The Newcastle midfielder has scored four goals in four 23/24 pre-season games, with Eddie Howe recently saying he’s “the fittest player by some distance..the goals are no accident.”
It remains to be seen how much game time Anderson will get this season, but all things point to the “Geordie Maradona” becoming an integral part of Newcastle’s campaign.

Divin Mubama (WHU)

Another promising FPL bargain, Mubama has been told by Moyes that he’ll be “heavily involved” in West Ham’s 23/24 season.
That follows a break-through pre-season for the 18-year-old, who has scored three goals, including one against Spurs.
West Ham have a recent history of disappointing forwards, and though the more experienced Danny Ings, Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio provide competition, none have been as productive as Mubama in pre-season.
He could well be the biggest bargain FPL forward if he gets game time.

Sven Botman (NEW)

It was incredibly surprising to learn that Sven Botman, the eight-highest scoring defender last season, was only priced at £4.5m for the 23/24 campaign.
It makes him the biggest FPL bargain amongst defenders, a fact that has not escaped the 25% of managers who have already bought him in.
Whilst Botman is hardly known for his attacking returns (he only managed two assists last season), he’s a stalwart in a Newcastle defence that conceded the second-lowest xGA (41.86) last season.

Bryan Mbeumo (BRE)

It’s Mbeumo’s position, as much as his price, that makes him one of the biggest bargains in FPL this season.
Listed as a midfielder, it’s likely he’ll take up a very attacking role, particularly whilst Ivan Toney serves out the remainder of his ban.
What’s more, he took a penalty (and scored it) in their latest pre-season friendly, suggesting the Brentford man will be on spot-kicks for the time-being.
Last season he scored nine and assisted nine – a very decent haul for such a cheap FPL midfielder.
If Brentford continue to be a potent attacking force in Toney’s absence, Mbeumo may well be the biggest beneficiary.

Phil Foden (MCI)

No midfielder scored more FPL points-per-90 than Phil Foden last season.
He managed 18 attacking returns in just 1,832 minutes. For context, Martin Odegaard (the second highest scoring midfielder last season) had 3,132 minutes and only mustered 5 more.
If he gets more than 2,000 minutes in the Premier League (a feat he has only barely scraped once – in the 21/22 season), he’ll probably be one of the highest scoring FPL midfielders in the league.
If he’s not an FPL bargain at £7.5m, we don’t know what is.
